A Day of Answers

Finally after almost two years we have answers on Tanner's medical condition!  Tanner has Juvenile Arthritis.  This has been a very long road but we finally have answers; today the physical exam, MRI and blood work all lined up.  Tanner received his first injection Thursday when we were at the doctor's office.  He will now need an injection done weekly(on top of all this other meds), at least we will be able to do this at home.  We have already received amazing support from the local Arthritis Foundation!  We are heading to camp as a family (even Tolan) April 11th-13th.  Tanner finally gets to meet other kids like him and Jon and I get to meet other parents that have been though this struggle.  Tanner will also be getting a support kit in the mail from the Arthritis Foundation, as well as support kit from the company that makes his injection.  So for know we still go one day at a time and see how everything goes next week with his PT evaluation.

Busy Wednesday!

So glad the mail came today before we had to leave for soccer!  Today's special delivery is for Tolan (and Tanner too)!  With keeping artificial coloring away from Tolan I was worried that we were not going to be able to color Easter Eggs this year.  Yes, I know this sounds silly!  We found this amazing company that makes play dough, paints and even Easter Egg kits that do not have artificial coloring added to their products.  They also have other fun stuff but, this is all we ordered for the moment.  I cannot wait to have some play time with Tolan.  Check out http://www.ecokidsusa.com They also have gluten free options too!
After getting everyone off to work it was time for the boys and I to get some household shopping in before soccer practice.  We headed to the local Meijer where we found some great savings!!!    Today's savings....$114.96 and only spend $21.66!!!  I would say this is deal of the day.  Thank you to the sales ads, mperks, and coupons for making this happen.  And I do not think we will need to buy soap for the rest of the year! Oh well, at least we will be clean.
As for Tanner and soccer today went much better.   He is starting to catch on and not look so beat by the end of training.  Leg pain was only at level 7 at the end of practice.  Not great but better than a level 9.  We are still looking forward to this appointment tomorrow in hopes we can get him back in to physical therapy.  Poor little guy has forgot how to run somewhere in this mess.  Tanner's last game for the indoor season is this Sunday and we cannot wait to get outside and start playing.  Although we shall see what Mother Nature has planned for us!!!

Our last update was four years ago.... So much has changed in the last four years I do not know where to begin.  But, I need an outlet, a way to share my ideas and who knows maybe this will help another family!  I think the biggest thing that has changed in the last for years is that we welcomed another little boy into the world in August of 2012.  Tolan is now 19 months old and one of the silliest little guys I know!!!  We are truly blessed to be his parents and to have him in our lives! It has not been an easy road but it has been well worth the ride!  So here is to new updates and loving life!!!

Tanner also got to spend the night with Great Grandma as he always does so that we we can go out shopping in the morning. Or this case we went to Toys R Us at midnight!

Great Grandma's Birthday and Christmas

On Great Grandma's 94th Birthday we all got together to celebrate her birthday and Christmas. There is a lot of people when we are all together but it is always a fun time. For Christmas everyone is to spend $5 sometime during the year and we see who can find the best bargain. Well, this year I was the bad one and wrapped out 2-$5 and put them in a big box. The funny thing is I told my cousin Brett about it the night before so the whole time that everyone was trading back and forth for the gifts Brynn and Brett both kept trying to keep the boxes that I had wrapped. It made for a fun day and in the end they each got there $5.

Happy with their $5 :)

Oh Casey what are you ever going to do with these???

Halloween with Woody

We stayed home for Halloween this year. Tanner had just got done being sick and I was still sick. Tanner also wanted to stay home because he was worried that the other people out trick or treating would not get candy if we were not home. So he planned his very own Halloween Party inviting Grandma, Great Grandma and Papa to come over. We tried to make it a little extra fun by getting a pumpkin pizza from Papa Murphy's which Tanner thought was the most silly thing he had ever seen. Tanner dressed up like Woody for Toy Story which we were lucky to get the last custom from the Disney Store!!! Overall we had a great night!
